One of the authors of DVDStyler (Alex) mentioned that a DVD with mixed resolutions (he was talking about 352x480 I think) had to have a vmMenu and that for NTSC there should be a dolby audio track somewhere on it. One is that all the little bits and pieces used by DVDStyler are PAL (720x576) with mp2 audio. In the process I came accross some comments that have given me some options and a possibility of doing 480x480 with 48khz audio. I've been tracking down a problem with a friend's DVD player that won't play anything authored with DVDStyler (it has to be the world's worst DVD player but he likes it). BTW, I hear VideoReDo is going to produce a DVD Authoring module for VideoReDo that will definitely handle TiVo. In my experience you are not likely to find any better combination of price and useability than using DVDStyler along with VideoReDo as described in these links. Here is a ***post*** that is a handy compendium of links giving most of what you need to know about using DVDStyler for TiVo files. I think you can get DVDStyler to author the 480x480 and then it would be interesting to see if your player will handle it - it might.

The most-used DVD format is full D1 (720x480) but I'm not aware of any TiVo format that matches that unless it might be those that work with satellite boxes. The only such format I know of that TiVo puts out is the "Medium Quality" which is 352x480, called "half-D1". The odds of your player handling 480x480 are less than for a DVD-compliant format. Simple workaround: remove spaces from the name.Īpostrophes have also caused problems for DVDStyler. I think if you have spaces in the name, you have to enclose it in quotes. I suspect your error, however, was a simple thing related to the name of your video file.
